Frequently asked questions.

What is kombucha?

Kombucha is a functional beverage! It’s made by fermenting tea. Our kombucha contains green, black and sometimes herbal tea to which we add sugar and kombucha culture. The sugar is converted by the yeast during the fermentation process. After initial fermentation, our kombucha is flavored with fruits, vegetables, and beneficial herbs. The end product is a refreshing, tangy, effervescent beverage. Kombucha contains natural probiotics, B vitamins, organic acids, antioxidants, to support gut health and overall wellbeing.

What are the health benefits of kombucha?

Many! Ancients called kombucha “elixir of life” for a reason, as they experienced firsthand its healthful properties. Here’s what consumers say when asked how kombucha makes them feel:

  • increases energy

  • aids in digestion

  • supports healthy liver function

  • balances the internal pH

  • controls hunger

  • eases constipation

  • boosts immunity

  • enhances overall health and wellbeing

  • just “feel good”

Does kombucha contain alcohol?

All fermented foods and beverages contain trace amounts of alcohol. It’s a natural and essential part of fermentation. Our kombucha is legally non-alcoholic, meaning it contains less than 0.5% alcohol. However, it is fermented naturally as opposed to processed and therefore not alcohol free. Do not consume if you are completely avoiding alcohol.

How much kombucha should I drink?

The appropriate serving size is specific to the individual. Since every body is different we suggest introducing kombucha into your diet slowly. 4-6 oz per day is a good place to start observing how kombucha works in your body. Commercially available kombucha is sold in single serving containers up to 16 ounces.
